Used Soft Plastic Lures Recycling

Our Members Matter!

Brainerd man makes recycled fishing lures for youths

2019 Was a great year!

Our members collected over 125 pounds of used plastics at the TOC and fall meetings alone, keeping them out of our lakes and landfills.
Minnesota BASS Nation member Larry Roland turned previously collected plastics into 625 packs of plastics to be distributed to youth programs all across the state. These newly poured plastics weighed over 125 pounds as well!

A big THANK YOU to all those anglers and clubs that helped collect used plastics last year. We will be working on getting sponsor prizes for the 2020 effort. Prizes will be awarded to youth and adult clubs collecting the most used plastics.

Contact your conservation director for more information about this program and to donate used plastics or if you have a need for the new baits.

Collecting at Youth Event

Pitch It and ReBaits® are national progams to prevent littering and extend the life of soft plastic fishing lures.

Minnesota joined the effort in 2012. Lures are collected and given back to our Junior Bassmasters and other youth.
